Thriving Entrepreneur – Sales & Marketing: Myths That Don’t Serve You in Life and Business

Word of mouth is the best form of marketing.

This is something that you don’t have control over. To market, grow, and advertise your company, you need to have some things out there that are consistent that people can know and rely on.

Relying on the “word of mouth” form of marketing means you’re relying on these things, so you have to be careful:

– Less than 10% of people who are going to be talking about you.
– People who had a good experience with you that is outside of the norm which gave them an excellent experience.

Though you have the best of intentions, sometimes people may lead your brand to a place where you don’t want it to go. So you have to control the message you’re putting out there. You have to give people good things to say about you. You have to guide your brand in the direction where you want it to go.

Concept of Sales and Marketing

You don’t have to sell anything, you just need to have a good marketing and the product will sell itself.

Selling is all about sharing, having a mindset of service, and giving the people a way that you can serve them. This is the best way to define selling.

Example:
Online Messaging – Putting a link for example at the end of your blog to give credit to someone. You have to give people a choice to make and an action to take.

Marketing, on the other hand, is all about brand messaging and it is as important as selling. Nothing happens until something is sold.

Example:
In a restaurant, you often say you want a Coke even though you just mean you want a can of soda. And if the restaurant doesn’t sell Coke products, they will tell you that they don’t have Coke, but they have other products like Pepsi or Mountain Dew.

Now, that is a simple way of selling.

Thriving Entrepreneur – How to Assign Tasks, Ask for Help and Manage People

Managing people can be a difficult task. Doing it gracefully can seem nearly impossible some days. Surprising though, even worse than the difficulty of managing people is the trap of doing it all ourselves.

We need to remember the importance of letting go. As an entrepreneur, it is so easy to always see every task as being something we have to do. The truth though is much different. All distractions are equal, and in your business, the distraction of busyness can be the worst. We need to learn how to identify not only our strengths but also our weaknesses. Then as we have said many times, we need to STOP DOING WHAT YOU SUCK AT! Let your brilliance shine and allow others a place where their brilliance can shine as well.

We need to discover how to assign people where they will shine and then lead them with grace. It is our job as the owner of our company and the CEO of our business to create an environment of empowerment. By allowing our people to shine and creating a graceful place for accomplishment we receive a business that is not only successful but is more importantly THRIVING!

Michael spent years as a general contractor, so he knows how to manage people and projects. Michael also went on an incredible journey of self-discovery that has changed his life. Michael shares with what he learned about himself and how that can help you and your business to:

* Be open to asking for help
* Giving Grace as we Manage people
* Assigning tasks to the right people and empowering their success

Thriving Entrepreneur – Are You Missing Business Signals

We have all said it so many times things like:

I don’t know why they didn’t buy?
Or how about, “I really thought they were going to buy”?
Think about the last time you said that?
Why didn’t they buy? Why didn’t we know? What could we do differently?

We all ask these questions whenever we think we should have had a sale. Wouldn’t it be great if everyone who wanted our product just had a sign saying, “I want to buy”!

Here is shocking news!! THEY DO! The problem is that we miss it?

Customers give us signals. Sadly they are very unlikely to say, “Hey! Let me buy your stuff!” But in many ways, the things they do and say are saying exactly that.

When a customer tells us they want to buy sometimes even unconsciously, these are called “Buying Signals.”

We know how to build the like, admire and trust with a person. We know we have a product they want and need. Maybe we even thought they were going to get it, and then…they didn’t.

Today we are going to learn how not to miss it anymore. How to recognize buying signals our customers are giving them and then just simply invite them to do business with us.

Host Steve Kidd is joined by Award-winning Sales executive and founder of Sales Maven Nikki Rausch. They will teach us today what we need to learn simple and powerful skills to increase your sales. Learn today how to get your customer to say yes without being pushy AND learn how to hear when a person is really telling you they want to buy. Learn how not to miss BUYING SIGNALS!

Thriving Entrepreneur – #Letstellyourstory

Your story matters!

In this second anthology book by Kathy Kidd, she shares another group of amazing people as they share their stories about what it means to them to live as a thriving entrepreneur.

“Passing It On” by Ancleah Gamble

For Ancleah, being a Thriving Entrepreneur made her feel important; that she has a voice. Providing service to other people and knowing that she was able to change people’s lives gives her a sense of fulfillment. Plus, knowing that her children are learning and embracing entrepreneurship gives her so much joy.

“Say Yes to Your Next Step” by Monica Reed

Monica resigned from her regular job in the corporate world because she realized that it wasn’t what she was meant to do. She became a relationship coach because, in her heart, what she wanted was to serve other people.

Let’s talk about SALES with Kathy Kidd.

“If you had 10% more belief, what would be possible for you?”

SALES is about offering solutions to your clients and letting them choose. It’s about discovering what your clients need and what’s going to solve those needs.

“The Feng Shui of Personal Transformation” by Connie Knudson

According to Connie, you need to find your own personal best direction. You need to create and write down your goals to know what you want to accomplish. Then you have to place them in your best success direction. You have to declutter those areas and have images that reflect your goals. By doing this, you’d be able to attract the energy and the inspiration to take the next steps.

“Prospering in Life” by Dionne Garvin

Thriving in life, for Dionne, is all about prospering, growing, and operating in your most authentic self. It’s about nourishing, not only the people you serve but also nourishing yourself. Being an excellent communicator, she is able to share the things she learned to help other people thrive as well.

“My Journey of Parallel-preneur Towards Entrepreneur” by Noreen N. Henry

Thriving in life, for Noreen, is having complete peace and focus. She didn’t have that before, and it seemed like her life didn’t have any clear direction. When she found peace and focus, she was able to discover what her passion is and see the direction that she wanted to go.

“The Headline of Your Life is Success!” by Rodney Lawson

Rodney explained the importance of creating your own organizational culture and not letting others dictate it to you. You are the one who should guide it in the direction that you want it to go. Rodney prefers to work only with (1) people who are very serious about what they do, (2) people who have the passion for serving/helping others, and (3) people who are respectful.

And Lastly, the host of radio show Thriving Entrepreneur Steve Kidd encourages you to “Just Show Up.” You just need to be the best version of yourself and show up fully in all that you do.

This anthology book is not only for entrepreneurs and parallel-preneurs but also for those who never thought they would want to be an entrepreneur. As Kathy Kidd says, “Begin to make progress today, because the opportunity is there, now!”

“Entrepreneurship is the most courageous choice someone can make. It requires grit and grace, heart and hustle, and testing and failing and succeeding. Most of all, it requires resilience and living intentionally every day. Easier said than done? Yes. Worth it? YES.” — Jennifer Kem
